CCUS technologies offer a complementary solution to renewable and low-carbon energies, making it possible to achieve French and European environmental and energy objectives. We support you in the development of your CCUS technologies to combine decarbonisation with new economic and industrial prospects, specifically through carbon recovery and commercialisation.

Residual CO₂ - the incompressible part after the implementation of energy saving and efficiency measures and the integration of renewable and low-carbon energies - is captured before being released into the atmosphere and separated from the other components by a capture technology.

The CO₂ is then dehydrated, compressed or liquefied: two forms in which it can then be transported.

It is transported from capture points to recovery or storage points by underground pipelines or, where appropriate, by rail, road, sea or river.

It will then be recovered as a raw material for various applications, including the manufacture of sustainable fuels (e-fuels), or stored in onshore or offshore reservoirs, such as depleted old hydrocarbon deposits or deep saline aquifers. It is thus permanently isolated from the atmosphere.
